Paula Younger, Deputy County Administrator
County
Administration, under leadership of the County Administrator, oversees
and coordinates the operations of county government to successfully
carry out the policies of the County Legislature.
Among its responsibilities, County Administration prepares preliminary
and final budget documents, provides information to Legislators
and departments to support decision-making, performs contract and
risk management, and ensures that the public and media are well-informed
on County issues.
Under provisions of the County Charter, the County Administrator
provides direct oversight of the County’s departments, listed
below: |
Other
County Departments report directly to the Legislature (Finance,
County
Attorney, Clerk
of the Legislature); are accountable to the voters (County
Clerk/Department of Motor Vehicles, District
Attorney, Sheriff),
or to the political parties (Board
of Elections). The Administrator maintains direct communication
with these Departments, responsible for ensuring that they, too,
implement the policies of the Legislature.
